I have found that the friends you adore later in life…are the ones who you become part of your tribe…the people you laugh with, vacation with, and make memories with along with your family. I kind of hit the jackpot with this one….this friend is just a brilliant beautiful light…she is just so full of all the wonderful things one could want in a friend…and this past year, in December, she had her first baby.

I was lucky enough to get to be her photographer and watch my friend’s little bump grow (perfectly round may I add) and to see her and her husband (whom I begrudgingly adore as well) dote on her…the sessions we did for their maternity and newborn were some of my favorite moments as a photographer…maybe it’s because I love them so much, maybe it’s because I got to watch my friend, who is, by my children’s own words, their “favorite”-become a mother, or maybe because these will be my most treasured memories with them.

There is no one I know who deserves this moment as much as my beautiful friend…and their baby…whom I intend to spoil rotten-get out of any legal trouble he may have-and convince him that I am his favorite…their baby is just as perfect as them.

Welcome to the world little one…you are adored beyond measure…you are loved by the sweetest, funniest, most beautiful mama…and your dad is alright too.
